Life or death

Have you ever had a life or death situation?  Well i have. When i was about 7 years old my cousin had this birthday party. For her birthday we went swimming. I wasn't tall enough to reach the bottom of the pool . My two older twin sisters told me that i want big enough to be in the "big kid pool".I wanted to prove my sisters that i was indeed big enough to be in the "big kid pool". At the time, I didn't really know how to swim. But being the hot head seven year old that i was,I decided to try and walk around the edge of the pool. I walked around the pool for a few short minuets when i all of a sudden slipped and went under the water.In the short story that we read in my English class there is a man who was daring enough to climb out a window just to get some paper work that flew out. Just like the man on the edge of building, i wanted to prove to my sisters that i was big enough to play in the "big kid pool".  The man in the short story eventually got the paper work, but after he was back to safety, the paperwork flew out the window again! He didn't dare climb out and find he paperwork again. Just like the story little Mikayla wasn't brave enough to get back in the "big kid pool" and walk around again after that tradigic experience.
